If you are arriving in Puerto Madryn by cruise, then our specially designed trip to Punta Tombo is the perfect activity for you. In this stunning nature reserve, you will discover Argentina's largest colony of penguins and some of the country's most breathtaking landscapes.
Punta Tombo Shore Excursion
We pick you up at the port of Puerto Madryn and head to Punta Tombo (entrance not included). After a journey of around 100 miles, we will arrive at the huge natural reserve area which is famous for being the home of Argentina's largest colony of penguins.
Immediately upon arriving, we will set off on an enjoyable walk along the nature trail that runs through the reserve. Along the way, you will encounter wonderful penguins wandering through the vegetation and caring for their chicks. We will have to keep very quiet so that we don't wake the ones that are sleeping!
We will stop at one of the area's best panoramic viewpoints so that you can watch the penguins jumping in and out of the ocean. As we explore Punta Tombo, you will learn more and more about how these amazing creatures live. In the summer, more than a million penguins flock to these shores.
Besides penguins, you will also see wonderful Guanacos, Piche 'dwarf' armadillos, and foxes, all native to this part of the world.
After the walk, we will head to a roadside inn, where you will have your own free time to take lunch as you wish (not included). Then, reenergized and refreshed, we will start our return journey to Puerto Madryn. We arrive back at the port in time for you to board your cruise ship.
