Patagonia Tour Package: 9 Days from Puerto Madryn
Day 1: Puerto Madryn
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Madryn, and take you to the airport where from you'll make your own way to Ushuaia. Once you arrive we'll pick you up, and you'll then have the rest of the day free to relax and explore the northern Patagonian city at your leisure.
Day 2: Punta Tombo
After a hearty breakfast in the hotel, we'll head to the Punta Tombo Provincial Reserve, home to the largest colony of Magellanic penguins in Argentina! We'll get to see these adorable animals and learn all about them at the Punto Tumbo Interpretation Centre - did you know they steal eggs? At the end of the excursion, we'll return to hotels in Puerto Madryn.
Day 3: Puerto Madryn – Bariloche
On day three after breakfast, you'll be taken to the airport or station in Puerto Madryn to make the journey to Bariloche on your own. When you arrive, we'll be waiting to take you to the hotel, and you'll have the rest of the day free to rest and to marvel at the majestic Lake Nahuel Huapi.
Day 4: Bariloche
We'll begin our day with breakfast before starting our adventure at 9 am. Bordering the shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi, we'll pass by Playa Bonita on our way to Cerro Campanario. You'll have the choice of reaching the top of this peak by chairlift or on foot - either way, you'll enjoy spectacular views of Victoria Island and San Carlos de Bariloche from its privileged location!
Next, we'll head to Villa de Llao Llao, a village where we'll get to admire the San Eduardo Chapel, designed by the architect Alejandro Bustillo. Having explored the picturesque sights, we'll pass by Escondido Lake and Lopez Bay, and make a stop at a viewpoint located at 3100 feet (945 metres) above sea level. At the end of the fourth day, we'll drop you back off at the hotel to relax.
Day 5: Bariloche - El Calafate
You'll be taken to the airport or station in Bariloche for your journey to El Calafate, where we'll be waiting when you arrive to transfer you to your hotel. You'll then be left to explore the city and discover its culture at your own pace.
Day 6: Los Glaciares National Park
Wrap up warm and enjoy an energising breakfast: today we're heading to Los Glaciares National Park. We'll see an impressive natural ice formation: the Perito Moreno Glacier, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has an area of almost 100 square miles (250 square kilometres) and despite climate change is advancing rather than receding!
Walking along the different footbridges and balconies that surround the giant ice formation, you're sure to be captivated by its sheer size and its beauty. You won't want to leave, but after two and a half hours we'll return to the hotel in El Calafate.
Day 7: El Calafate – Ushuaia
On the seventh day of the tour, you'll be picked up from your hotel and taken to the station or airport in El Calafate to make the journey to Ushuaia on your own. You'll be picked up on arrival and taken to the hotel, after which you can spend the rest of the day as you wish. Explore the town or go and see the famous Lighthouse at the End of the World. Did you know that this lighthouse served as inspiration to Jules Verne?
Day 8: Tierra del Fuego National Park
Located just 7 miles (11 kilometres) from Ushuaia is the Tierra del Fuego National Park, where we'll spend the penultimate day of our tour. Passing by the slopes of Mount Susana, we'll reach the Southern Fuegian Railway, or as it's alternatively known: the Train at the End of the World. You'll have the choice between riding this legendary train - whose origins are entwined with the history of the Ushuaia Prison - or visiting Ensenada Bay, where you'll have the opportunity to see the Redondo and Estorbo Islands in the Beagle Channel.
Afterwards, we'll meet back up again and head to Roca Lake, Lapataia River and Cerro Condor, admiring the spectacular landscapes of the southernmost points of Patagonia. At the end of the day, we'll return to Ushuaia.
Day 9: Ushuaia
The final day of our nine-day tour will be dedicated to exploring Ushuaia and its most important places of interest. We recommend visiting the End of the World Prison and discovering the history of Argentina's most famous murderer, El Petiso Orejudo.
Finally, you'll be dropped off at the airport for your journey home after nine unforgettable days exploring Argentine Patagonia.
