Learn to dive like a professional in the Machalilla marine reserve in this PADI Open Water course in Puerto López. You can choose from two different levels, depending on your previous experience.

Options

The marine reserve of Machalilla National Park is a paradise for scuba diving lovers. In its coral reefs, you can find a multitude of species such as fish, turtles, crustaceans and cetaceans. That's why this PADI Open Water course in Puerto López is the perfect option to learn how to move underwater and discover its treasures.

PADI Open Water Course

The PADI Open Water course has three parts, which you can complete in 2 or 3 days, depending on whether you choose classroom or distance learning.

Day 1

The first part consists of a theoretical lesson on the basic principles of diving. This part can be done face-to-face or at home. In the latter option, we would send you the documents to study on your own and you would have to be present on the second day for the practical lesson.

Day 2

On the second day, we'll start with diving in confined waters, where we'll put into practice what we learned the day before. Then, after a break for lunch on your own, we'll head to the open sea to improve your diving skills with two dives of up to 12 meters (40 feet), where you'll gain the confidence to dive on your own.

Day 3

The last day of the course will be for two more open water dives to explore the underwater world of Puerto López. At the end of the class, you'll receive your PADI Open Water certificate.

PADI Advanced Open Water Course

In the PADI Advanced Open Water course, you'll be able to extend the depth limit of your dives to 30 meters (98 feet) and improve the skills acquired in the PADI course you previously completed.

Here you'll complete five dives: one Deep Adventure Dive, one Underwater Navigator Adventure Dive, and three dives to choose from the following:

  • Aware Fish ID
  • Drift Diver
  • Peak Performance Buoyancy
  • Search and Recovery Diver
  • Underwater Naturalist
  • Underwater Photographer
  • Underwater Videographer

Upon completion of the course, you'll receive a temporary PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification card, which will be valid anywhere in the world. A few weeks later, you'll receive your permanent PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification card in the mail.
