Isla de la Plata Excursion
Isla de la Plata Excursion
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the dock of Puerto Lopez, where we'll board a boat. After sailing for about 2 hours, we'll arrive at Isla de la Plata, located in the Machalilla National Park.
This protected area is one of the most extensive of the country's coastline and is comprised of two areas, one terrestrial and one marine. Did you know that this place is home to the only coral reefs in Ecuador?
Throughout the trip, we'll listen to the explanations of a local guide while we admire the surrounding landscape. Sea birds, rock formations, cliffs... An endless number of things to see! Once on land, we'll go for a stroll to observe the endemic fauna and flora of this island, also known as the Little Galapagos.
At the end of the walk, we'll have a small picnic lunch that includes a sandwich, two seasonal fruits, mineral water, and soda. After lunch, we'll get back on the boat and move to an ideal spot for snorkeling. Thanks to its crystalline waters, we'll be able to see lots of coral reefs and marine species!
We'll finish the excursion by returning to the dock of Puerto Lopez, where we'll arrive 9 hours after setting sail.
