Wounaan Indigenous Community Day Trip

When making your booking you can choose from 3 options. In each case, we'll meet at the Wounaan Puerto Lara Hospice. The following is an explanation of each option:
10-Hour Tour
Once we've arrived at the Wounaan indigenous community, the members will welcome us with open arms by showing us their typical dance. The best way to begin the day! During the trip, we'll discover all about this indigenous community in Panama, learning about their cultural, social and economic customs.
At mid-morning, we'll enjoy a delicious traditional lunch eaten by the Wounaan community. Once we've eaten, we'll begin hiking around the Darién jungle, a tour that will allow us to discover the interesting flora and fauna that call this region home. Be on your toes, we're sure to see loads of animals!
Afterwards, we'll take part in some typical community activities, such as craft works and learn how their day-to-day lives are as they work to get food and water.
Finally, after 10 hours of enjoying the company of the inhabitants of the Wounaan indigenous community, we'll say goodbye and bring an end to our experience
1-Day Tour
If you wish to spend more time with the indigenous community in the Darién jungle, you can choose the option that includes a night of accommodation in a traditional cabin.
In addition, there'll also be more activities to take part in at the camp, such as learning the community's traditional dances.
2-Day Tour
With this option, you'll enjoy 2 nights of accommodation in a cabin within the Wounaan community camp. For this experience to be even more complete, we'll do some fishing and will go on a hike in the forest every day to admire the natural beauty. This will be the most immersive experience!
