Puerto Inca Ayahuasca Ceremony
Puerto Inca Ayahuasca Ceremony
Day 1
We'll meet at Hospedaje Los Incas, where this spiritual retreat will take place. First, we'll go on a walk through Puerto Inca to learn about the customs of the local community. At 6 pm, we'll have a light dinner and get ready for the ceremony.
Ayahuasca is a hallucinogenic drink used by many Amazonian peoples of Peru and other South American countries. Since ancient times, Indigenous Peoples have used it in their sacred rituals as medicine due to its therapeutic properties. For these communities, ayahuasca helps the purification of the spirit and eliminates psychological blockage, allowing them to connect with their inner wisdom.
At 7 pm we'll begin with the introduction to this experience led by a shaman. You'll be able to ask the shaman questions, observe the preparation of the ceremony and take photos. Then, the shaman will begin the ritual with chants to the Pachamama and will give you a taste of ayahuasca and mapachos, Peruvian handmade cigarettes. Finally, you'll have some time in silence to feel the effects of the drink until the end of the ceremony at 2 am.
Day 2
Ayahuasca can affect the physical and emotional state of each person differently. Therefore, on the second day, you'll have two itineraries available to choose from depending on how you feel in the morning.
- Option 1: After waking up and having breakfast, we'll go into the jungle with the shaman to learn about the medicinal use of Amazonian plants. After the explanation, we'll have lunch in the jungle and return to the lodge for dinner and rest.
- Option 2: We'll wake up, have breakfast and head to Pintuyacu creek for a relaxing bath and to swim in its crystalline waters. We'll have lunch in the jungle and then return to the lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 3
Once rested, on the third day, we'll wake up early and accompany the shaman in his search for medicinal plants. Afterward, we'll all return to the lodge, where we'll have lunch and you'll have time to relax until 7 pm when the second ayahuasca ceremony will begin. Once again, we'll have the opportunity to experience the altered states of consciousness and introspection that the drink provokes.
Day 4
On the last day, we'll wake up totally renewed after this therapeutic experience. We'll have breakfast and say goodbye with the feeling of having connected with the spiritual world during these days of retreat.
