Day Trip Details

At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Escondido and make our way north until we reach the Chacahua Lagoon National Park. After a 1.5-hour drive, we'll arrive at the El Zapotalito, the dock that marks the beginning of our aquatic travels.

We'll hop onboard this speedboat equipped with a roof and comfortable seating to explore the area's impressive lagoons. Over the course of 1.5 hours, we'll sail through mangrove tunnels and amongst small islands as we tell you all about the fauna and flora in this ecosystem. Migratory birds, river crocodiles, and diverse mangrove species await you in this dream-like landscape!

Once we reach Chacahua Bay, you'll be greeted by an idyllic beach with crystal-clear waters and golden sand. You'll have 3.5 hours of free time here to swim, relax in the sun, or explore your surroundings. Additionally, you'll have the chance to taste the delicious local flavours in one of the seafront restaurants if you wish. We recommend trying the thinly sliced fish. It's a real delicacy!

Lastly, we'll return by speedboat to El Zapotalito, admiring the lagoon's natural beauty once again, before beginning our journey back to Puerto Escondido by land. We'll say our goodbyes back at your accommodation after a total of 9 hours.
