Penguin Island Day Trip
Penguin Island Day Trip
At 8 am, we'll set sail from the Puerto Penacho dock to the famous Penguin Island.
During a one-hour trip along the Santa Cruz coast, you might see animals including the Peale's dolphins. If the weather conditions are favourable, we'll meet several species of birds and sea lions. This area of Argentina has great biodiversity!
Once we disembark on Penguin Island, we'll enjoy a three-hour walking tour around the island, during which we'll see the large colony of Magellanic penguins that live in this spot in Patagonia. We'll also admire the island's ancient relics, such as the lighthouse and the farm ruins.
The tour will continue to the highest part of the island, to enjoy excellent views of the Penguin Island Interjurisdictional Marine Park. Then we'll cross to the other side of the island to see the colony of yellow-crowned penguins.
We'll also take the opportunity to have a delicious portion of homemade pudding accompanied by a drink, choosing between tea, coffee, mate or chocolate milk.
Finally, we'll see the colony of sea lions and elephant seals on the island. Then we'll head back to Puerto Deseado, arriving at the departure pier at 1 pm.
