Darwin Camp Day Trip
Darwin Camp Day Trip
After picking you up at your hotel in Puerto Deseado between 7:30 and 8 am, we'll travel along the Patagonian roads to Estancia Cerro del Paso and stop to have breakfast.
Then, we'll continue the excursion to Charles Darwin's camp. This is the place where the famous naturalist and his companions settled during Christmas 1833. The scientist was travelling at that time aboard the HMS Beagle, commanded by the British Royal Navy officer Robert Fitz Roy. We'll reveal all the details about this expedition, which was a milestone at that time.
After learning about the history of Darwin's voyage, we'll continue the route through this extensive part of Patagonia. On the way, we'll see the rocky cracks next to the steppes of the Deseado Estuary, and admire the cave paintings found in the ravines.
Once the tour around these landscapes is over, we'll enjoy a delicious lunch consisting of different Argentine specialities. Afterwards, we'll learn about the history of the estancia and get closer to the Deseado estuary to see how the force of the sea penetrates 40 kilometres inland.
The tour will end returning to your hotel in Puerto Deseado, arriving at 7 pm.
