Activity Details
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at the meeting point in the south of Gran Canaria that you have chosen in your booking. Are you ready to discover the flavors of the island?
We'll start the tour by driving to Arucas. In this beautiful town in the north of Gran Canaria, we'll first visit the Arehucas distillery, where we'll discover how rum is made from sugar cane. At the end of the tour of the factory, those who wish will be able to taste different types of rum on their own.
After visiting the distillery, the tour continues with a visit to the Banana Museum. As we tour the exhibit, we'll learn about the origins of this product, which has become a reference point in Canarian gastronomy. We'll also show you how to distinguish the native variety of the archipelago, which is characterized by its small size and its yellow color with brown speckles.
In the museum shop, you can buy wines, liqueurs, pâtés, and creams made from bananas. Afterward, we'll head to a local restaurant where you can enjoy traditional Gran Canarian recipes at your leisure. Your mouth will be watering with every dish!
After lunch, we'll continue our gastronomic route through the north of the island at the finca La Laja. At this estate, located on the outskirts of Agaete, we'll enjoy a coffee and wine tasting. We'll complete the visit with a mojo canario workshop, in which we'll learn how to make the typical sauces that accompany papas arrugadas (wrinkled potatoes).
At the end of the workshop, we'll return to the meeting point in the south of Gran Canaria, where we'll conclude this 8-hour tour.
