Food & Wine Tour Details
Get ready for a mouthwatering adventure as we embark on a food tour of Tenerife's famous guachinches! We'll pick you up at your hotel and kick off the day in style with a visit to the Casa del Vino in El Sauzal. This place is a wine lover's paradise, with its museum, wine cellar, and restaurant housed in a charming 17th-century Canarian hacienda.
At the Casa del Vino, get ready to sip and savor three delightful Tenerife wines - red, rosé, and white. We'll guide you through the intricacies of each sip, from the aroma to the texture, while sharing fascinating insights about the island's winemaking heritage. And of course, we can't forget the delicious selection of local cheeses that will perfectly complement the wine-tasting experience.
Afterward, we'll head to the Bodegas Monje winery, which dates back to 1750. We'll explore its facilities and enjoy three glasses of your choice between the youngest wines accompanied by three snacks.
Then, we'll head to the traditional guachinche. In this typical Tenerife restaurant, you'll savor a menu that includes grilled cheese with mojo sauce, escaldón (a traditional corn-based dish), papas arrugadas ("wrinkly potatoes") with mojo sauce, huevos al estampido (spicy eggs), and ropa vieja (shredded beef in a tomato sauce base). All of this will be served with exquisite wines.
Finally, we'll board our bus again and head to the starting point. Our tour of the guachinches, including the return transfer to the hotels, will take between 6 and 19 hours, depending on the location of your hotel.
