This excursion to Atlixco and Chipilo invites you to get to know one of Mexico's Pueblos Mágicos and taste its typical delicacies, including bread, ice cream, and cheese.
Atlixco & Chipilo Tour
At the appointed time we'll pick you up at your hotel in Puebla and take you to visit two places you can't miss in this Mexican state.
Our first stop will be in Atlixco, one of Mexico's famous Pueblos Mágicos ("Magical Towns"). We'll stop at the city's Zócalo, or main square, home to a colorful sign of the name of the city, and then we'll go on a stroll through the historic center of Atlixco. We'll visit the Church of Santa María de la Natividad and the Municipal Palace, where we'll see its impressive murals.
Next, we'll head to a place called La Pasadita, where we'll delight in the typical flavors of Atlixco tasting artisan bread, chocolate, beer, mezcal, and ice cream. Did you know that here they call ice cream nieve ("snow," in English)?
We'll then go up to the old Franciscan convent, from where we'll have magnificent views of Atlixco and the city of Puebla. We'll conclude our tour of this town at a nursery where we'll see a great variety of flowers and fruit trees.
Then we'll go to the small city of Chipilo, where we'll visit a cheese factory and enjoy a tasting of Chipilo cheese accompanied by wine. Finally, we'll return to Puebla and drop you off at your hotel 5-6 hours after pickup.
