On this tour from Pucón, you'll travel to the Argentine border with Chile. We'll explore the volcanoes and monkey-puzzle forests that are dotted along this Andean border between the two countries.
Argentine Border Tour
At 9 am, we'll set off from your hotel in Pucón and head to Curarrehue: a picturesque Chilean village near the Argentine border.
From Curarrehue we'll hit the road to Mamuil Mala, which is the border crossing point between Chile and Argentina across the Andes. We'll set off on a sightseeing tour through this beautiful part of South America where, without entering Argentina, we'll admire views of the incredible Lanín Volcano. This 12,388-foot (3,776-metre) high volcano is still active and is part of the Pacific Ring of Fire.
We'll make a stop in the area surrounding this volcano, which sits right on the border between Chile and Argentina. While we're here, we'll also admire the beauty of the Araucaria forests. Their lush colours cast a soft green hue over the valleys at the foot of Lanín Valley.
Our tour along the Argentine border will then take us along the shores of Lake Quillelhue, which is less than a mile away from Argentina. There weren't always roads here, so people would have to cross the lake by boat to get from one country to the other.
After seeing Lake Quillelhue, we'll return to your hotel in Pucón and drop you off at 1 pm.
