On this guided visit of Procida, we'll discover all about this charming island in the Gulp of Naples: its history, the churches, the viewpoints, the monuments and its harbour. We really mean everything!
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Marina Grande to begin visiting one of the most colourful islands in the Gulf of Naples. While we walk around the beautiful streets, we'll discover the history and traditions that make this location so unique.
We'll begin our tour by making our way towards the Church of Santa Maria della Pietà, constructed in 1760 on the foundations of a chapel founded in 1616. In fact, it's also known as the Church of the Sailors.
From here, we'll walk towards the Corricella, a harbour from the 17th century, famous for its unusual architecture. Later on, we'll climb up to the Procida Castle and continue until we reach the Terra Murata, from where we'll admire some amazing views.
Once at the top, we'll discover the Ávalos Palace. Did you know that in the past it served as a citadel prison and entry is currently prohibited? After marvelling at this building, we'll head to the San Michele Abby, whose origins date back to the 8th century.
Finally, after 2 hours together, we'll say our goodbyes back at the meeting point.
