Join us for a day at sea on this boat trip around the Ambracian Gulf. Throughout the trip, we'll sail the turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea.
Sail Along the Ambracian Gulf
At the indicated time we'll meet at Eleftheriou Venizelou Street, in Preveza, to begin this boat trip around the Gulf of Arta. We'll spend the day in the waters of the Ionian Sea while discovering the historical and environmental importance of this area of northwest Greece. Don't miss it!
As we sail, we'll be telling you different facts about the Ambracian Gulf. Did you know that it's also known as the Gulf of Arta or the Actium Gulf? And that it's almost totally closed and only has a narrow passage of 700 metres (2,296 feet) that connects it to the sea? You won't stop learning!
We'll continue out to sea in search of dolphins! One of the best-known species of these friendly mammals, the bottlenose dolphin, lives in this area. Bit by bit, we'll see how they approach the boat, from where you'll be able to take pictures of the incredible animals.
After our encounter with the dolphins, we'll make a stop for a refreshing swim and refuel with a delicious lunch on board. The menu will consist of fish or shellfish, along with a potato and tomato salad. You can accompany it with a drink of water, juice, beer or wine.
After 4 to 5 hours of cruising in the Ambracian Gulf, we'll arrive back at the meeting point. See you next time!
