We'll pick you up at the time of your choice at your hotel in Praia Grande and drive to the natural area where the Malacara Canyon begins. Are you ready to explore one of the most amazing gorges of Santa Catarina?
Upon arrival at the gorge, we'll embark on a 4-kilometre (2.4 miles) hiking trail of moderate difficulty. The first stage will take us through a beautiful riverside forest. In addition, we'll have to cross the course of several rivers as we pass through these beautiful landscapes.
We'll continue this hiking route through the Malacara canyon, learning about the geological origins of this gorge. To do this, we'll stop at various viewpoints that will allow us to appreciate the rocks and minerals of the gorge. We'll also discover which species of endemic flora and fauna inhabit this particular ecosystem.
The next stop will be at an impressive natural pool, that measures between 3 metres deep and 20 metres in diameter (9.8 and 65 feet). Depending on the weather conditions, you'll have between 30 minutes and an hour of free time to take a refreshing dip in this lagoon.
From the natural pool we'll walk back to the starting point of the hiking route, where the vehicle will be waiting to take us back to Praia Grande. Arrival at your hotel is scheduled for three to four hours after pickup.
