We'll get the ball rolling as we meet at the Estrada Geral Costão Novo and get going on an exciting quad tour through the Churriado Canyon. One of the most spectacular gorges of Rio Grande do Sul, in southeastern Brazil, awaits us!
As we start our 8-kilometer (4.9-mile) route, we'll traverse rural roads in the Churriado Canyon area. During this first part of the route, we'll pass by rivers of crystalline waters, cross dense forests, and ride along unpaved trails. This route will take us to the Quedas waterfall, one of the most beautiful in the region.
After a refreshing dip at the waterfall, we'll enter Churriado Canyon. This spectacular gorge, located in Serra Geral National Park, stretches for 3 kilometers (1.8 miles). Its steep rock walls range from 260 to 720 meters (850 to 2,362 feet) high and are surrounded by lush vegetation.
During the ride, we'll try our luck at spotting the local fauna of Rio Grande do Sul that inhabit the canyon. We'll also learn about the endemic vegetation of the region. Soon you'll find out the wide-ranging biodiversity that calls this area home.
Finally, after 1.5 hours of traversing through the jungle, we'll return to the meeting point bringing the quad tour to an end.
Requirements
Participants, including both pilots and companions, must be at least 16 years old to take part in this activity.
Each quad has a maximum capacity for two occupants: a driver and a passenger. Both can take turns driving the vehicle during the tour if they hold a valid license.
