8-Day Train Tour

Day 1: Prague

Welcome to the Czech Republic! We'll pick you up at Václav Havel Prague Airport, and take you to your central hotel in downtown Prague. There, you'll have the rest of the day to explore the capital city and rest.

Day 2: Prague

We'll kick the day off with breakfast at the hotel before setting off on a walking tour of Prague's New City. We'll visit Wenceslao Square as we stroll through the Czech capital for a guided tour of the Old Town as well. We'll also pass by Gunpowder Tower, one of the most emblematic monuments of Prague's Old Town.

Next up for the day, we'll arrive at the Old Town Square. Here, we'll admire the exterior of Týn church and the iconic Prague Astronomical Clock, found at the historic City Hall building. During our tour, we'll find out the significance of each to the city's history.

Our tour of Prague's Old Town will come to an end along the Moldava riverbank where we'll also see the famous Charles Bridge. On the other side of this archway, lies Malá Strana, which translates to "Lesser Town." This neighborhood is famous for being Prague's bohemian hub full of baroque architecture and cobblestoned streets.

From here, you're free to enjoy the day at your own pace, exploring the monuments of Prague.

Day 3: Prague

After a filling breakfast at the hotel, you'll have the entire day to yourself in Prague! Take advantage of your time and enjoy a day trip to a nearby city or stroll at your own pace through the neighborhoods of the capital city. The day is yours to enjoy.

Plus, at night, you can enjoy a unique blacklight theater show, a staple of Prague nightlife. If you're looking for a quieter evening, consider riding in a cable car up to Mount Petrin for stunning views!

Day 4: Prague – Vienna

Following breakfast at the hotel, we'll meet you at the Prague train station to catch our first train to Vienna. During the 4.5-hour trip, without a guide onboard, you'll enjoy breathtaking panoramas of the Bohemia and Moravia regions from the train car.

Once you arrive in the Austrian capital, you'll head to your designated hotel in Vienna. From there, you'll have the rest of the day to rest up and explore the Danube riverside city at your own pace.

Day 5: Vienna

Good morning Vienna! First up, enjoy a filling breakfast at the hotel before we hit the ground running with a panoramic tour of the Ringstrasse. As we learn about this famous boulevard, known by locals as the "ring of Vienna," we'll spot other monuments from our vehicle. We'll glimpse the State Opera House, the Museums of Art and Natural History, Hofburg Palace, and City Hall.

After our panoramic tour, you're free to enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your own pace.

Day 6: Vienna – Budapest

Fill up with breakfast at the hotel, and then meet us at the Vienna train station so we can make our way to Budapest. During your trip, without a guide, you'll enjoy a tranquil 2.5-hour ride full of stunning central European landscapes. Sit back, relax, and watch the scenes pass you by from the train car.

As you arrive at the Hungarian capital, head to your designated hotel in Budapest. Unpack, unwind, and rest up at your own pace. If you're up for it, take a stroll along the Danube River, especially at night, for a magical first evening in Budapest.

Day 7: Budapest

Ready to uncover the pearl of the Danube? Be sure to eat up at breakfast before leaving the hotel and we'll set off on a guided tour of the Pest neighborhood. During the tour, we'll admire the exterior of the National Opera and stop at the Parliament Building, a monumental symbol of the city.

Next, we'll stroll along the Danube River until we reach the famous Széchenyi Chain Bridge. This iconic archway connects the two sides of city, Buda with Pest. Though we won't visit it, on the other side of the river we'll be able to catch a glimpse of the Buda Castle.

As we bring our guided tour of Budapest's historic downtown to an end, you're free to enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your own pace. 

Day 8: Budapest

On our last day, we'll enjoy one final breakfast at the hotel. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy Budapest. Then, with plenty of time in advance, we'll head to the Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport so you can catch your returning flight. Safe travels!

Accommodation

This tour includes 7 nights of accommodation with buffet-style breakfasts. The hotels you'll stay at depend on the category you select:

3-Star Hotels

• Prague (3 nights): Zlatá Váha 3* or similar
• Vienna (2 nights): Garten & Kunsthotel Gabriel 3* or similar
• Budapest (2 nights): Baross City Hotel 3* or similar
   

4-Star Hotels

• Prague (3 nights): Theatrino 4* or similar
• Vienna (2 nights): Exe Vienna 4* or similar
• Budapest (2 nights): Impulso Fashion 4* or similar
   

Children

Children aged 2-12 are eligible for a discounted tour price but must share a room with their parents or guardians to qualify for the discount. Only 1 child is permitted in each double room. Children under 2 may travel for free, sharing a bed with their parent or guardian, and are not entitled to their own seat on the train.

Prices

Please keep in mind that the price listed is per person and not per room.

Guides and Transfers

Our guide will accompany you on the visits to the different cities, however, please keep in mind that you will travel by train without a guide.

Transfers between the Prague airport and your assigned hotel, as well as from your hotel in Budapest to the airport, are included. However, transfers between hotels and train stations are at your own expense.

The train tickets are included in the tour.
