Discover the wildlife, vegetation, and archaeological remains of the underwater city of Baiae on a glass kayak - it'll be a unique experience!
Baiae Kayak Tour
At 10 am, we'll meet at number 191 of Via Miliscola in Pozzuoli. After listening to the directions of an expert instructor and the explanations of a local guide, we'll get on our kayak to reach the Underwater Archaeological Park of Baiae. Ready for an exciting adventure in the Gulf of Pozzuoli?
Aboard our see-through kayak, we'll sail the waters of the gulf until we reach one of the oldest archaeological sites in the world, in the heart of the Phlegraean Fields. The history of this place dates back, in fact, to Roman times, when the place was sunk by bradyseism activity. Do you know the history of this place? You'll soon learn all about it!
The sunken city of Baiae has five dive sites: the Portus Julius, the Secca delle fumose, the Ninfeo di Claudio, the Villa dei Pisoni, and the Villa a Protiro. From the see-through kayak, you'll be able to see the Ninfeo, Emperor Claudius' banquet hall, and the remains of the trading port. We'll go back in time to the times of the Roman Empire!
After touring the underwater city of Baiae onboard our kayak for two hours, we'll conclude this extraordinary experience.
