Potosi Private City Tour
Potosi Private City Tour
When booking your private tour of Potosi, you can choose from any of the following options. All of them include pickup from your hotel and return transfer.
Potosi Tour (4-5 hours)
This tour will take us to places like the church of San Francisco, the tower of the Society of Jesus, or the cathedral of Potosi, the main religious building of the Bolivian city. We'll walk along old colonial streets such as Sucre or Nogales, until we reach the 10 de Noviembre square, where the Revolution of 1810 is commemorated.
We'll be able to see the daily life of the inhabitants of Potosi while we visit its Central Square and many other emblematic places. To finish with a flourish, you'll have an extra 1 hour 30 minutes to tour one of the city's museums, choosing between the Mint or the Santa Teresa Museum.
Potosi Mines Tour (2-3 hours)
Did you know that Potosi was home to the largest silver mines in the world between the 16th and 17th centuries? This led it to become one of the most prosperous cities in South America. In fact, even Miguel de Cervantes mentioned it in his famous work Don Quixote de la Mancha.
Does the saying "worth more than a potosi" ring a bell? Well, it has its origins in the wealth that the city obtained thanks to the mines of Cerro Rico. We'll take you there to visit a mine where we'll learn about the mining tradition of the city and how the miners work.
Potosi Mysteries and Legends Tour (2 hours)
We'll go to the 10 de Noviembre square and walk through the many mysteries and legends that for years have circulated through the colonial streets of Potosi.
Souls in pain, demons, sorceresses, hidden chests and the occasional miracle will accompany us during this night tour. Afterwards, we'll pass through Pulmonia street, and access the chilling crypts of the cathedral of Potosi.
Advantages of booking a private tour
