National Mint of Bolivia Tour
At the appointed time we'll meet at the Villa Imperial in Potosi. From this central location, we'll begin to walk until we reach the Plaza del 10 de Noviembre square, where we'll find the National Mint of Bolivia.
This building, founded in 1572 as the Royal Mint of Potosi, was where coins were manufactured during the Spanish colonial period. It was here where one of the biggest scams in history took place. We'll discover more while we walk through the different rooms around the museum.
Afterwards, we'll go to Francisco Gómez de la Rocha's house. Without revealing too much, we'll tell you that he was the architect of the coin counterfeiting scam.
Once we've discovered the history of Rocha and the "rochunas", we'll walk around the city to admire other places of interest including the Santo Domingo church, San Martín church and the convent of Santa Teresa, among others.
The tour will end returning to the starting point.
