After picking you up from your hotel in Potosí at 8 am, we'll head to the beginning of the Melgarejo trail to set off on our hike.
During the seven-hour hike, we'll follow the footsteps of the famous Bolivian politician Mariano Melgarejo and find out all about him. Did you know he ordered the construction of this road due to his fear of an ancient curse?
We'll make our way through the mountains to discover a panoramic view of Potosí and the Cerro Rico. Did you know this mountain once housed one of the most important silver reserves in the world? The route will also take us past the Portaretrato Cave before we make a stop to enjoy a well-deserved picnic.
Afterwards, we'll continue the hike, discovering local plants and wildlife such as magnificent cacti and much more. At the end of the hike, we'll drop you off at your hotels by around 4 pm.
Hotel pick up
This tour includes pick-up from hotels in central Potosi. If you're staying in nearby villages, you'll have to make your own way to the meeting point on Calle Lanza.
