Potosí Private Day Trips

When making your booking, you'll be able to choose one of the following private day trips from Potosí. All of them include pick up from your hotel, transport by private vehicle, an English-speaking guide and return transfer.

Eye of the Inca (3 hours)

If you join us on this unique day trip, we'll cross the Potosí plain and discover its main natural wonders. After making a brief stop at Devil's Cave, we'll continue to the village of Tarapaya. From there, we'll walk to the Eye of the Inca hot springs, where you can take an invigorating dip.

The area surrounding Tarapaya and the Eye of the Inca is famous for its beautiful mountains, which are bursting with colour and create a picture-perfect view.

The schedule we'll follow will be similar to that of this day trip to Eye of the Inca.

Schedule: departures at 7 am.

Uyuni Salt Flat (9 hours)

We'll leave Potosí behind and head to the Uyuni Salt Flat, one of the most spectacular natural areas in Bolivia. To begin, we'll visit its famous train cemetery to see the country's first ever locomotives.

Our day trip will then take us the town of Colchani, the gateway to the Uyuni Salt Flat. We'll see the "salt eyes" and visit the Playa Blanca hotel and Pescado Island. In the evening, we'll admire a beautiful sunset over Uyuni.

This day trip will have a route similar to that of this day trip to the Uyuni Salt Flat.

Schedule: departures at 10:30 am.

Kari Kari Lagoons (7 hours)

From your hotel in Potosí, we'll drive to the starting point of the Kari Kari Lagoons hiking route. During our trip to this set of artificial lakes from the colonial period, we'll visit the ponds of San Ildefonso, Chalviri, San Rafael and San Pablo.

As we walk around the lagoons, we'll see llamas, sheep, viscachas and other animals native to this area. We'll also visit the Apacheta viewpoint to enjoy the breathtaking views.

Our schedule will be based on the one in this hike around the Kari Kari Lagoons.

Schedule: departures at 8:45 am.

Hacienda Cayara and Villacolo (8 hours)

We'll set off from Potosí and head to the Hacienda Cayara. It was built in 1557, making it the first hacienda built in Bolivia. We'll visit the museum inside and observe its traditional colonial architecture.

Our day trip will then take us to the Hacienda Villacolo, where we'll visit its spectacular dam and the cave paintings located in its surroundings.

This day trip will have a schedule similar to the one on our day trip to Cayara and Villacolo.
