Jesuit Ruins of Santa Ana, Loreto & San Ignacio Tour
Tour Details
At the indicated time, you'll be picked up at your hotel in Posadas for a tour of the Jesuit ruins in the province of Misiones.
The first stop will be at the Jesuit reduction of Nuestra Señora de Santa Ana, founded in 1633. There, we'll learn about the legacy of the Jesuits, whose monks had to leave South America after their expulsion from the Spanish territories, decreed by King Carlos III of Spain in 1767.
We'll continue our tour by visiting the Jesuit reduction of Nuestra Señora de Loreto, whose origins date back to 1610. In this ancient mission, we'll discover, among other curiosities, how the Jesuits managed to spread their messages through the printing press.
Finally, we'll go to the city of San Ignacio, where we'll visit the San Ignacio Miní reduction to learn about the history of its founding father, the Jesuit Roque González de Santa Cruz, in 1611
After visiting this last mission, we'll return to Posadas, where we'll arrive at the initial meeting point 6 hours after pickup.
