Ribeira and Porto Medieval Walking Tour
Ribeira and Porto Medieval Walking Tour
We'll meet our English–speaking guide at 10 am in front of Porto Cathedral. Its construction began in 1110 and is in the Romanesque architectural style, typical of the Middle Ages. We'll begin our tour by visiting its interior and marveling at its architecture.
Then, we'll explore the Pena Ventosa, a small, narrow, and colourful maze of streets that'll enchant you. After this, we'll then come across Sao João street. Do you know its history? The guide will explain it to you on the day of your visit.
We'll then head to the Ribeira district, with its colourful houses that are sure to enchant anyone. Throughout the tour, the specialised guide will tell us about the medieval period of Porto.
The guided tour in medieval Porto will end after a 2-hour walk, in the Praça do Infante, which pays homage to Henry the Navigator, responsible for the great discoveries of the New World.
