Hidden Side of Porto Free Tour
Description
At 6:30 pm, we'll meet at Calçada de Vandoma, and from there, we'll start a free tour around Porto to discover the most mysterious tales of this Portuguese city. Ready?
We'll set off following the footsteps of several mysteries and crime stories. Have you heard about the ghost of São Bento? This station, one of the icons of Porto, is not just known for its beauty.
Next, we'll go to Rua das Flores, where we'll tell you about the crimes of the most famous poisoner on this street. And in the old Olival ghetto, we'll comment on the tumultuous period in which the persecutions of the Jews took place, and we'll also see a synagogue hidden for centuries.
The next stop will be the old prison, where we'll learn about various legends connected with it. We'll continue the tour in the old hospital of Santo Antonio to go to the Palace of the Sirens, built in the area of the Cemetery of the Hebrews and the Jewish Quarter. What tragic stories are hidden behind its walls?
Then we'll walk through the old Alfandega and the old Armenian quarter. What was the lie that gave its name to this peculiar district? – we'll find out!
After two hours and 15 minutes, we'll end our free tour of the hidden side of Porto, the city by the Ribeira do Douro.
