Day Trip Details

After meeting at San Bento railway station, we'll hit the road south until we arrive in Fátima, found 200 km away from Porto.

Once there we'll have the opportunity to relive the phenomenon of the apparition of the Virgin Mary, who is said to have appeared to three shepherd children in 1917, a revelation in Portugal and the Catholic world. In Fátima we will see the three most famous sites in the city: the Sanctuary, the Basilica and the Chapel of the Apparitions.

Having finished the visit, you'll have free time to grab some food if you wish, stroll through the city, or relax with a coffee.

The next stop is Coimbra, the fourth largest town in Portugal, where we will see the University (one of the oldest universities in continuous operation in the world), the Old Cathedral (built in the 12th century whose Arab influence can be clearly seen), and pass through the rest of its historic centre.

Finally, we'll say goodbye at Rua de Alexandre Herculano after 9 hours in total.

Everything went as planned, I bought the visit in Portuguese, but it didn't give the number of people and the company contacted me and I went there knowing it would be in Spanish and English, a serious company is responsible. Even though I understand a little Spanish, the very polite and friendly guide José always explained some things to me that I didn't understand.
