Fátima and Coímbra Day Trip
Fátima and Coímbra Day Trip Itinerary
After meeting at San Bento railway station, we hit the road south until we arrive in Fátima, found 200 km away from Porto.
Once there we'll have the opportunity to relive the phenomenon of the apparition of the Virgin Mary, who is said to have appeared to three shepherd children in 1917, a revelation in Portugal and the Catholic world. In Fátima we will see the three most famous sites in the city: the Sanctuary, the Basilica and the Chapel of the Apparitions.
Having finished the visit we'll head to a restaurant to try traditional food, included in the price of the tour. After eating you'll have free time to pass through the city or relax with a coffee. If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know you you make your booking.
The next stop is Coimbra, the fourth largest town in Portugal, where we will see the University (one of the oldest universities in continuous operation in the world), the Old Cathedral (built in the 12th century whose Arab influence can be clearly seen), and pass through the rest of its historic centre.
Finally, we'll say goodbye at Rua de Alexandre Herculano after 9 hours in total.
