Aveiro & Paiva Walkways Trip
Aveiro & Paiva Walkways Trip
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Rua de Alexandre Herculano, 173. From there, we'll take a 1 hour trip to the Passadiços do Paiva Trailhead.
Once at our destination, we'll start a wonderful 2-hour walk along these wooden walkways. We'll find ourselves in the middle of stunning nature of the Arouca Geopark while enjoying the surroundings of the Paiva River as we walk around 5 km (3.1 miles).
Afterwards, we'll hop on the minibus and drive to Arouca, where we'll enjoy a delicious traditional meal. You'll have a choice of different dishes, with a meat, fish or a vegetarian option. Did you know that Arouca is home to one of the longest pedestrian suspension bridges in the world? If you're up for it, we'll walk the 516 Arouca Bridge during our visit!
Next, we'll head to Costa Nova, a beautiful fishing village known for its colourful houses. After exploring its streets, we'll make our way to Aveiro, the Venice of Portugal. There, we'll see the magnificent Republic Square with its elegant 18th century Town Hall and we'll pass in front of amazing Art Nouveau constructions such as the Casa do Major Pessoa and the Ergovisão building.
After discovering the history of Aveiro, we'll board a traditional moliceiro boat for a brilliant 45-minute trip along the city's canals, with unique views of the colourful streets!
The trip will end by returning to Porto, and you'll be able to head back to your hotel, 10 hours later.
