Want to explore two gems of northeast Brazil? With this tour to Recife and Olinda, we'll enjoy the many charms of two cities rich in history and heritage.
Recife & Olinda Excursion
After picking you up at your hotel in Porto de Galinhas between 7:30 and 8:30 am, we'll head north to Recife. The minibus ride will take us about an hour and a half.
Our first stop of the day will be at Boa Viagem beach. We'll enjoy the views of this bay and, if you want, we'll leave you some free time to take a catamaran ride on the Capibaribe River. Did you know that this waterway has made Recife known as the Brazilian Venice?
Next, we reconvene and head to the square of Praça Rio Branco, also known as Marco Zero, where we'll explain the historical importance of this place as the foundational point of the city.
Afterward, we'll take a guided tour of the main attractions of Recife. We'll walk along Rua dos Judeus, considered one of the most beautiful streets in the world, see the exterior of the Kahal Zur Israel Synagogue, visit the Embassy of Giant Puppets, admire the handicrafts exhibited at the House of Culture and learn about the urban evolution of Recife checking out the ruins of the Open-Air Museum.
We'll then return to the minibus and leave Recife behind to head towards Olinda, protected by Unesco as a World Heritage Site. We'll stroll through the old town or walk up to the Alto da Sé, whichever you prefer. From the top, we'll enjoy an incredible panoramic view of the city and its main monuments, such as the churches of Sé and Misericórdia.
We'll finish the tour and drop you back off at your hotel between 6:30 and 7:30 pm.
