At the agreed time, we'll pick you up from your hotel and head to Silves, the ancient capital of the Algarve. After half an hour's drive, we'll reach this town and start touring its historic center.
During the tour of Silves, we'll approach the exterior of the castle, one of the best-preserved Arab fortresses in Portugal and a clear example of the Arab influences in the city. From here, we'll head to the Gothic-style cathedral of Silves, which is built on the site of an ancient mosque - we'll learn all about its history on this tour.
Next, we'll visit a local market to see the most traditional food products in this Algarve town. We'll return to the minibus and head to Caldas de Monchique, famous for its hot springs and stunning natural landscapes.
Once we arrive there, we'll walk around the village admiring the lush vegetation and beautiful scenery that led it to become a peaceful haven even as far back as the Roman Empire.
Last but not least, we'll go to the Fóia de Monchique, the highest peak of the Algarve - the views will leave you speechless!
Finally, we'll return to your hotel after four hours of sightseeing.
