Gasparee Caves Tour
Description
We'll pick you up at the time indicated from the hotel in Port of Spain that you choose to head to Gasparee Island, also known as Gaspar Grande, located between Trinidad and Venezuela. You'll love the route there!
Once onboard the boat, we'll don some lifejackets and set sail to our destination. Before arriving at the island, we'll pass by an old whaling port and see its ruins.
Upon arrival in Gasparee, you'll notice the peculiar limestone ground. We'll walk to an area of caves and see artillery ruins that were used during the Second World War.
Then, we'll head into the Gasparee Caves and see a spectacular stalactite and stalagmite formation. Finally, we'll reach the deepest point, 30 metres (100 feet) below the earth's surface! Here, we'll see a natural pool of turquoise water illuminated by rays of sun that peek through a small opening in the cave's roof. Totally stunning!
We'll then start our journey back by boat to Port of Spain. After 4 hours, we'll drop you back off at the starting point.
