Saut d'Eau & Artibonite Tour
Saut d'Eau & Artibonite Tour
At 8 am we'll pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Príncipe and get on the minibus towards the north of the island.
We'll drive for 60 kilometres and reach the town of Saut d'Eau to visit its waterfalls. Here we'll learn about Catholic legend, which recounts how the Virgin Mary appeared on a palm leaf, as well as the Vudu beliefs which claim that the Erzulie goddess lives in these waters.
Next, we'll continue onto the Artibonite River, the most important river in Haiti due to its use as irrigation and for Haiti's hydroelectricity supply. Here we'll see the Crête à Pierrot fort, the setting of the famous Haitian battle, and stop at Kay Mancia to enjoy a traditional lunch with main, dessert and a drink.
Afterwards, we'll visit the Petite Rivière school to learn more about the education system in Haiti. In fact, for each person that reserves this tour, 1 USD will be donated to the institution. Then we'll stop at the rice plantation and take you to one of the beaches along the Arcadins Coast to relax under the Carribean sun.
The tour will finish back at your hotel at 6 pm.
