Péligre Lake & Bassin Zim Tour
Péligre Lake & Bassin Zim Tour
At 8 am we'll pick you up from your hotel along the Arcadins Coast and Port-au-Prince, then we'll start the 2 hour journey towards the Péligre Dam.
We'll stop at the huge 72-metre high wall and discover the importance of the gravity dam located along the Artibonite River. Here the tour stops to admire the Péligre Lake while having breakfast including a coffee, tea and fresh fruit.
Following on, the next stop will be at a school in the commune of Hinche to meet some pupils and learn about the Haitian education system. For each person that reserves the tour, 1 USD will be donated to the school.
Afterwards, we'll head to Bassin Zim where we'll visit its caves, find its indigenous engravings and plunge into its waterfall. Did you know that locals believe these waters have healing properties?
Once we've finished looking around the unique area, we'll go to a local restaurant to have a traditional Haitian lunch consisting of a main meal, a dessert and a drink. Then the tour will finish, heading back to your hotel at 6 pm.
