Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Porlamar to start this complete tour of Margarita Island. Are you ready to get to know the best of this Venezuelan Caribbean paradise?
Our first stop is Pampatar. Here, we'll visit Plaza de Armas and the church of Cristo del Buen Viaje, a place with centuries of tradition for the sailors of the region. Right after, we'll head to the Castle of San Carlos Borromeo, a fortress overlooking the sea that will take you back to colonial times. To complete the experience, we'll go up to the Punta Ballena lighthouse, from where you can admire the impressive Pampatar Salt Flats.
Next, we'll continue to the Basílica Menor de la Virgen del Valle, an important sanctuary for the locals, full of peace and spirituality. Then, in the historic capital of La Asunción, we'll stroll through the Plaza Bolívar and visit the Cathedral and the Castle of Santa Rosa, where you can buy handicrafts, a reflection of the cultural richness of Margarita Island.
From La Asunción, we'll set off for the Macanao Peninsula. On the way, we'll see the Tetas de María Guevara, two hills that have become one of the symbols of Isla Margarita. Then, we'll continue to the beaches of La Auyama and El Coco, where the abundant colorful vegetation combines with the landscape of sea and sand, offering an incredible view of tropical nature in its purest state.
For lunch, we'll arrive at Punta Arenas beach, for lunch at a local restaurant with typical decoration and a cozy atmosphere. We'll try a delicious empanada margariteña as a starter and a traditional dish of the island.
After free time on the beach, we'll go to the Boca Chica Lagoon, a place with a spectacular panoramic view. Finally, we'll arrive at the fort of La Galera, where we'll have the opportunity to witness one of the most beautiful sunsets on Margarita Island.
