Tour of Ancient Istria
After being picked up in Porec, you'll be guided back to the world of ancient civilizations on this tour to the peninsula of Istria, one of the most spectacular in all of Croatia. We'll stroll through the labyrinths of cobblestone streets and admire beautifully preserved ruins at this cultural crossroads.
We'll first head to Rovinj, otherwise known as 'little Venice'. This tiny seaside town is crowned with the 18th-century Church of St. Euphemia and Venetian terracotta roofs. We'll take a stroll down the narrow cobblestone streets lined with stunning colorful buildings, and stop at dozens of camera-worthy spots along the route. You'll also have some free time to explore on your own.
Our next stop will be the city of Gržini, where we'll indulge in a delicious traditional Istrian lunch, a perfect way to get to know the local cuisine. Vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free options are available, please request them ahead of time if needed.
Finally, we'll head over to beautiful Pula, where we'll remember the days when togas were all the rage. Wandering around the remnants of ancient history, you'll be able to picture gladiators walking along these same streets. We'll visit the colossal roman amphitheater and many other breathtaking architectural wonders. Our expert guides will let you in on little-known historical secrets and fun facts relevant to the area. You'll also have a bit of free time here to explore at your own pace.
After 8 hours of touring, with smiles on our faces and cameras full of incredible pictures, we'll hit the road again and bring you back to the starting point.
