Salvajina Reservoir Tour
Salvajina Reservoir Tour
At 8 am we'll pick you up at your hotel in Popayán and travel north until we reach the Salvajina Reservoir, in the middle of the Cauca river basin.
After a two-and-a-half-hour drive, we'll arrive at our destination and start walking around the area to admire this great hydroelectric plant. First, we'll visit the Salvajina waterfall and, to get the best views of the reservoir, we'll go up to its viewpoint for some great photos!
For the next part of the tour, we'll go on a boat ride around the dam, getting a chance to see the reservoir from a unique perspective. The guide will tell us all the details of its construction, as well as the importance of this place for the indigenous communities living in the Cauca region.
We'll then return to land and indulge our palates with a delicious traditional meal of fish, chicken, or grilled meat. To finish the tour, you'll have free time to swim in the pool of the Salvajina Reservoir.
At 5 pm we'll regroup and travel back to Popayán, where we'll finish the tour at approximately 7 pm.
