Day Trip to the San Agustin Archaeological Park
Day Trip to the San Agustin Archaeological Park
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Popayán at 5 am. You'll have to get up early, but it'll be well worth it, the Archaeological Park of San Agustin awaits!
After a two-hour drive, we'll make a pitstop before reaching the town of Isnos, where we'll boost our energy with a tasty traditional-style breakfast. Then we'll hit the road again and continue our journey to the Archaeological Park of San Agustin, one of the most important archaeological sites in Colombia.
Once we arrive, we'll take a tour of the entire archaeological site, unveiling the secrets of pre-Columbian civilizations. Did you know that the Archaeological Park of San Agustin is considered a World Heritage Site?
During the tour of San Agustin, we'll get to see more than 500 statues carved in volcanic stone, found in the upper basin of the Magdalena River and which have become the largest megalithic complex and the largest necropolis on the continent.
After the guided tour, we'll go to a restaurant where we'll refresh and recharge with a meal consisting of a main course accompanied by rice, soup, or salad. Then we'll head back to Popayan.
We'll finish the excursion at your hotel at approximately 7 pm.
