São Miguel Private Tour
When making your reservation for the private tour of São Miguel, you'll be able to choose from three different options. All of them start at 9 am at your hotel and include lunch and an English-speaking guide just for you. They all will end back at your accommodation around 5 pm.
West Coast Tour
If you choose this option, we'll start the day by visiting the impressive Vista do Rei viewpoint to admire some of the best views of the Sete Cidades crater and the Azul and Verde lakes. We'll then go down the mountain towards the Mata do Canário Natural Park. Did you know that this place is full of small lakes?
The next stop of the day will be in the town of Lagoa to have lunch at a local restaurant. Afterward, we'll continue our journey to the town of Ribeira Grande to visit its historic center, which still has buildings from the 17th century.
Finally, we'll reach Pico da Barrosa to admire the spectacular views of Lagoa do Fogo.
Northeastern São Miguel tour
On this tour, we'll head to the northeast side of the island, the oldest geological area and where you can find forests, mountains, waterfalls, and viewpoints to admire the breathtaking view of the sea.
Throughout the day, we'll enjoy these beautiful natural spaces and visit its small and charming villages. In addition, we'll visit some local handicraft stores to discover the traditional techniques of the island.
At noon, we'll stop in Achadinha for lunch. Afterward, we'll resume the tour until we reach the village of Povoação, the place where the first settlers of the island landed.
Southern São Miguel tour
We'll start the tour by heading towards the south side of the island, in the direction of the Furnas Valley. On the way, we'll stop at the village of Lagoa to admire its beautiful ceramic handicrafts. Afterward, we'll visit Vila Franca do Campo, the former capital of the island.
Once we arrive in Furnas, we'll enjoy a delicious traditional lunch known as cozido na Caldeira - did you know that it is cooked with the heat of the very volcanic soil there? After this delicious lunch, we'll head to the viewpoint of Pico do Ferro to enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the valley.
