Explore the natural landscape on the island of Sao Miguel with this Furnas Jeep Tour. Admire the centenary trees, the varied vegetation and the volcanic activity.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at João Bosco Mota Amaral Avenue in Ponta Delgada and get on a jeep to drive to the coastal town of Vila Franca do Campo. This village is one of the most visited in Sao Miguel due to the volcanic islet that can be seen from its port. You'll be captivated!

We'll discover all that nature has to offer on the route as we head to the island's interior. Our next stop will be Furnas, a small town located inside the caldera of a volcano. Here, we'll admire its pools full of bubbling water and other natural surprises that the location has in store for us.

Afterwards, we'll stop to enjoy a traditional lunch in a local restaurant. Our final stop will be Gorreana's tea plantations to sample one of the island's most famous infusions.

Finally, after 8 hours of touring, we'll be back in Ponta Delgada.

Our tour guide (Rúben) went beyond his way to make this tour an amazing experience. Unfortunately we were not able to go to the thermal baths due to maintenance works but he made sure we would get a special price to visit the botanical garden. Very nice tour to visit the Furnas area.

En general estuvo bien. El conductor/guía Rubén fenómenal, en todo momento , a pesar del tiempo adverso trató de que todo fuera bien. No me ha gustado que el día antes de la excursión me envíen email diciendo que la excursión tiene un gasto opcional, de la entrada a Terra Nostra. Creo que se debe dar a conocer en la web de contratación, para evitar gastos imprevistos. Tampoco me gustó que me vi obligado a cancelar el mismo tour para el viernes y al solicitar para el domingo me costara 10 eur mas Translate this opinion into English.

Overall it was fine. The driver/guide Rubén was phenomenal, at all times, despite the adverse weather, he tried to make everything go well. I did not like that the day before the excursion they send me an email saying that the excursion has an optional cost, the entrance to Terra Nostra. I believe that it should be disclosed on the contracting website, to avoid unforeseen expenses. I also did not like that I was forced to cancel the same tour for Friday and when requesting for Sunday it would cost me 10 euros more Opinion translated. Show original.
