If you've just arrived in Ponferrada and you're not sure where to start, we've got it covered! On our free walking tour of Ponferrada, you'll explore the most iconic sights and monuments of this historic Spanish city.
Free Walking Tour of Ponferrada
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the entry ramp to Ponferrada Castle, located next to the Church of San Andrés. From here, we'll set off on a guided tour of the town's main monuments. To begin, we'll learn all about the Order of the Temple and its castle, which is an iconic symbol of Ponferrada.
From here, we'll stroll through Ponferrada until we come to the Casa de los Escudos. This house was the ancestral home of the García de Llanas family and has housed the Luis del Olmo Radio Museum since 2003.
Another place we'll visit during our free walking tour will be Clock Street, where we'll find the Old Prison and the Museum of Bierzo. Next, we'll pass by the Town Hall and La Encina Squares.
Having spent an hour sightseeing, our free walking tour of Ponferrada will come to an end as we return to the starting point.
