On the day of your tour, you'll be picked up from your hotel in Podgorica at the scheduled, ready to set off on your hour-long bus journey to the Ostrog Monastery. Driving through the Danilovgrad Valley, you'll be surrounded by beautiful views of the Montenegro countryside.
Climbing up to Ostroška Greda, the giant rock that looms over this region of Montenegro, you'll be left speechless by the unparalleled views over the valley and by the Ostrog Monastery as it appears before your eyes. This historic pilgrimage centre, which is one of the most important in the Balkans, is built directly into the almost-vertical rock face, making it a breathtakingly unique place.
As soon as you get off the bus, you'll be left in awe of the spectacular natural landscapes surrounding you and by the sheer size of Ostrog Monastery. Your guide will tell you all about the history of the important religious site, revealing curious facts as you explore it. Do you know why there are so blankets scattered around? Find out on the day of the tour! You'll also get to see the fountain located inside the monastery, whose water is said to have healing properties.
After visiting the monastery, you'll head back to the bus for your return journey to Podgorica, making a stop on the way in Tunjevo to get a feel for the authentic spirit of the Balkans admiring the traditional colourful houses.
