Day Trip to Isla Holbox
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Riviera Maya first thing in the morning and head to the Chiquilá port. Here, we'll board a small boat and start our journey to Isla Holbox, on the northern coast of the peninsula.
Our first stop will be at a stunning beach on the west coast of Holbox, where you'll have 45 minutes of free time to relax under the Caribbean sun.
Then, we'll leave this corner of paradise behind us and head towards Isla Pasión (Passion Island), a small island with beautiful pristine beaches, inhabited by many different bird species. At this small tropical paradise, you'll have free time to explore or relax at the viewpoint which offers outstanding views of the island.
Our journey will continue to Punta Mosquito, an incredible pristine beach that can only be accessed from the sea. Between the months of March and October, we might be lucky enough to see pink flamingoes that use this area as a breeding ground as they make their way towards South America.
Next, we'll go to a local restaurant by the beach to refuel. Here, we'll enjoy a delicious lunch typical of the region. After eating, you'll have approximately 1.5 hours to relax on the beach or visit the nearby town of Holbox at your own leisure, just a short walk away.
After a dreamy day enjoying the nature and tranquility of Holbox, we'll return to the port of Chiquilá. From here we will take you to your hotel.
Tours on Mondays and Thursdays
Please keep in mind that if you take the tour on a Monday or Thursday, the itinerary will be modified slightly. The tour will be done by speedboat, not by boat and the first swimming stop will be skipped. Instead, we'll head straight to Isla Pasión, where you will enjoy a delicious breakfast and have an hour of free time.
Afterwards, we'll a brief stop at Punta Mosquito before dropping you off in Holbox, where you'll have 3 hours of free time to relax on the beach or explore the local cuisine at your own pace. To finish, we'll and spend an hour at the beautiful Yalahu Cenote.
This activity lasts approximately eight hours.
Itinerary Adjustments
Please note that due to organisational reasons, the order of activities may change. If your tour takes place on a day other than Monday or Thursday, and depending on the weather, the Punta Mosquito visit may be replaced with a visit to Isla Pájaros or the Yalahau Cenote.
Flamingo Watching
Although it's common to see a large population of pink flamingos in this area between the months of March and October, the animals live in the wild and are therefore unpredictable.
