We'll pick you up at the indicated time at your hotel in Playa del Carmen and head to Chichén Itzá, one of the main Maya sites of the Yucatán Peninsula.
Upon arrival at Chichén Itzá, we'll go on a guided tour of this ancient pre-Columbian city, also a World Heritage Site. During the tour, we'll see the great pyramid of Kukulkán, the imposing Venus Platform, and the Temple of the Warriors.
We'll continue to discover the fascinating culture of the Maya by visiting the remains of the Observatory, also known as El Caracol. We'll also see the remains of the Ball Game, one of the most popular sports in the Maya civilization. Can you guess what the rules were? You'll learn the most important ones during the tour!
Following the visit to Chichén Itzá, the tour will take us to the famous Cenote Hubiku. Here you can take a dip in a unique breathtaking environment, considered by the Maya to be the entrance to the underworld. This dip is sure to whet your appetite, so we'll then head to a local restaurant for a traditional Yucatecan lunch that includes a typical dish.
After lunch, we'll depart for the Maya city of Ek Balam, where we'll visit the remains of the Oval Palace. We'll also admire the Twins, two mirroring temples, and visit the tomb of Ukit Kan Le'k Tok', an important ruler of Ek Balam, to observe the striking frieze on its façade.
At the end of the guided tour of Ek Balam, we'll return to your hotel in Playa del Carmen, where we'll arrive 12 hours after pickup.
