Before leaving Plaza Mayor, we'll tell you all about Abuelo Mayorga, one of the town's most famous figures. From here we'll walk to Plaza de San Esteban, where we'll see the church of the same name, and then we'll go to the Plaza de las Catedrales. We'll admire the exterior of the two cathedrals of Plasencia, the New and the Old, while we tell you their history and show you the details of their architecture.
In our walk through the old town of Plasencia, declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, we'll stroll through medieval streets and discover stately buildings such as the Palacio de los Monroy o Casa de las Dos Torres, one of the oldest in the city. Did you know that important figures such as King Ferdinand II of Aragon stayed here?
We'll pass through Plaza de San Nicolás on our way to the Parador de Turismo, located in the former Convent of Santo Domingo, and the Palace of the Marquis of Mirabel.
After discovering the illustrious owners of this last building, we'll return to the starting point, where we'll finish the tour after two hours.
