On this cultural tour through the Andean valley of the Elqui River, we'll visit the small towns of Horcón and Alcohuaz to learn all about pisco, one of the most popular liquors in Chile!
Description
At the designated time, we'll meet on O'Higgins Street in Pisco Elqui and then head towards the Elqui River Valley, which is known for producing pisco, one of the most popular liquors in Chile.
First, we'll head to the village of Horcón, where we'll visit a high-altitude vineyard and learn how the Criollo grapes used in the production of pisco are cultivated. Afterwards, we'll see different petroglyphs in the area.
Then, we'll continue our tour of the Elqui Valley by visiting a pisco distillery on the outskirts of Horcón, called the Doña Josefa Distillery. This visit is optional, but at the distillery, we'll see how this alcoholic beverage is made, and then, of course if you'd like to, we'll taste some of the liquors produced in this area!
From Alcohuaz, we'll return to the initial meeting point in Pisco Elqui, arriving after a total of 4 hours.
