Roccagloriosa Excursion
After meeting at 5 pm on Via Borgo, we'll leave Pisciotta behind and head to the south of the Campania region, specifically towards Cilento National Park, located between the gulfs of Salerno and Policastro.
We'll find the village of Roccagloriosa nestled on a hillside and surrounded by spectacular scenery, where every corner will transport us to the past. To get there, we'll cross the northern part of Mount Bulgheria, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll also have the opportunity to see the majestic image of Mount Bulirla from the bus.
Once in Roccagloriosa, we'll stroll through its streets to see its most emblematic places while learning about the history of this municipality. Did you know that documents place the origin of this place back in the 13th century? However, during a visit to the antique shop and the Civic Museum, which houses numerous archaeological pieces, we'll discover that the town is even older!
During the tour, we'll see several noble palaces and talk about the famous Totò, one of the best Italian comedians of all time. Legend has it that this artist was born from the secret love between his mother, Anna Clemente, and the Marquis De Curtis.
We'll then tour the ruins of the castle of Roccagloriosa and visit some of its churches.
Finally, we'll return to Pisciotta and drop you off at the starting point at 9 pm.
