Pietrapertosa Guided Tour

We'll meet at the time indicated at the bus stop on Via Umberto I to start this guided tour of Pietrapertosa. Located more than 1,000 metres (3,280 feet) above sea level, it's the highest town in Basilicata.

Situated in the heart of the Lucanian Dolomites, Pietrapertosa boasts the remains of fortifications dating back to the Norman period–are you ready to discover all about them?

The first stop will be the Franciscan Temple to learn the history of this ancient building built in 1474. We'll continue onto the Church of San Giacomo Maggiore and walk down the narrow streets of L’Arabata, the oldest neighbourhood in Pietrapertosa.

Then, we'll walk up to the old Via dei Portali and the impressive Angel Flight. From this last point, you'll have unbeatable views of Pietrapertosa and the valley below. You'll love it!

After a total of 2.5 hours, we'll say our goodbyes back at the meeting point.
