Phnom Penh Private Tour Itinerary

After being picked up from your hotel in Phnom Penh, you'll head to the Royal Palace. Located in the heart of the city centre, this complex of buildings, the residence of the Cambodian King since the 1860s, is a typical example of Khmer architecture.

Within the Royal Palace complex, you'll visit the Silver Pagoda (entrance fee not included). This magnificent structure, also known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, houses some of Cambodia's most important national treasures, including the eponymous green crystal Buddha and a life-size gold Maitreya Buddha set with almost 10,000 diamonds.

The next stop on your guided tour will be a visit to the National Museum (entrance fee not included), where you'll have the opportunity to learn all about the history of Phnom Penh, as well as appreciating the important collection of Khmer art exhibited there. After immersing yourself in Cambodian history, you'll take a break in a local restaurant, enjoying a lunch of typical delicacies while you relax.

With renewed energy, you'll head to Wat Ounalom, the most important temple of its kind in Phnom Penh. Constructed in the 15th century, this monastery complex is made up of 44 different buildings. It almost feels like a small city, where Buddhist monks live, study and practice their faith. As well as exploring the different temples, you'll discover one of the city's most guarded treasures: an eyebrow hair that supposedly belonged to Buddha

You'll then be taken to Wat Phnom (entrance not included). The tallest religious structure in Phnom Penh, this temple was built in 1372 and gave its name to the city. Finally, you'll visit the famous Russian Market, one of the Cambodian capital's liveliest shopping areas, and a great place to find clothing, souvenirs and some tasty offerings at the food stalls.

At the end of your tour, you'll be dropped back off at your hotel at around 5 pm.
