Having been picked up from your hotel in a tuk tuk, a classic way to travel around Southeast Asian cities, you'll be taken to a traditional Cambodian market located in the heart of Phnom Penh.
As you take in the lively atmosphere of the market, your English-speaking guide will point out the different food stalls and help you choose the best produce for the recipes you'll later learn to prepare. Cambodian cuisine is based in fresh, natural products like rice and vegetables, making it some of the healthiest food in the world.
Once you've gathered all of your ingredients, you'll be taken to a nearby kitchen to begin your Cambodian cooking class. Guided by your instructor, you'll create traditional delicacies like lok lak, a spiced beef dish influenced by the country's French colonial heritage. Hone your culinary skills learning to make the perfect Khmer curry and amok, an exquisite local dish of fish and other ingredients steamed in banana leaves.
After cooking up a storm, it'll be time to taste your efforts and indulge in all of the delicious local food that you've made... we hope you're hungry! At the end of your cooking class and meal, you'll be taken back to your hotel by tuk tuk.
